Our Patron and Inspiration

We draw inspiration from St Thomas the Apostle of India and the heavenly patron of MST. Therefore, we dedicate to the Church a new unique painting of the Apostle. This portrait of the Apostle expresses the different features of the person and mission of the Apostle.  Thomas looks like Jesus, because he is the twin. He has a staff in his hand because he was constantly travelling. He has along mantle which crawls in the ground because his mission was spread far and wide in India. He stands on solid rock because he established the Church of Christ in Kerala on solid foundation. It is still strong. The scroll in his hand signifies the Gospel that he brought to India. Water and boat in the background signifies the voyage by the waters to reach India. “My Lord and my God” is the faith proclamation of the Apostle.

This unique painting is done by artist Jinu George, Thoduveli, Jinu Vihar, Pazhaveedu P.O., Alappuzha.
